Dr. Jordi Monés participates in the meeting “Pathologies of the Retina” organised by Novartis and El Periódico

Dr. Jordi Monés, MD, PhD, the Director and ophthalmologist specialising in macula, retina and vitreous at the Institut de la Màcula, will participate in a meeting entitled “Pathologies of the Retina” on 18 November. The event is organised by the Novartis pharmaceutical company and the newspaper El Periódico de Catalunya.

Dr. Monés will explain the principal diseases of the retina and assess their future and how they will be researched. Dr. Monés will focus on Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and review the two major forms of the disease (dry and wet), the symptoms and the risk factors associated with it.

Other participants at the meeting include Dr. Luis Pablo Julve, who will discuss the importance of eye health in patients with diabetes; Dr. JJ Escobar, who will focus on Diabetic Macular Edema and the importance of prevention; and Dr. Santiago Abengoechea, who will lecture on myopic choroidal neovascularisation.
