Marc Biarnés gives course: “What the Optician-Optometrist needs to know about retinal diseases”

Marc Biarnés, the Clinical Trials Coordinator and Clinical Epidemiologist at the Institut de la Màcula, taught the course entitled “What the Optician-Optometrist needs to know about retinal diseases” on 7-8 June at the Valencia College of Opticians-Optometrists. A total of 29 opticians-optometrists attended.
The course aim was to familiarise opticians-optometrists with the principal retinal diseases from their ophthalmological characteristics and complementary explorations.
Biarnés covered degenerative and vascular diseases as well as those of the vitreous-retina interface. He also dealt with intraocular tumours, pharmacological toxicity and retinal dystrophies. Biarnés used a series of clinical cases to illustrate the subject matter of the course.
