Carol Camino lectures on diabetic macular edema at the Andalusian Parliament

Carol Camino, the low-vision specialist at the Institut de la Màcula and the President of the Spanish Society of Low-Vision Specialists (SEEBV), will deliver a lecture on Diabetic Macular Edema to the Parliament of Andalusia on Thursday 26 February.

Ms. Camino will talk about the perspective of the patient who suffers from diabetic macular edema. This disease involves the inflammation and accumulation of liquid in the macula and it occurs when the retinal blood vessels leak fluid.

The lecture forms part of the First Conference for the Prevention of Blindness by diabetic macular edema. It is organised by the ONCE, (The Spanish National Organisation for the Blind), the Macula-Retina Association of Patients and Relatives , the Andalusian Ophthalmology Society, the Parliament of Andalusia and Allergan.
