Dr. Jordi Monés attends the World Innovation Summit for Health in Qatar

Qatar will be the venue for the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), which will take place on 10-11 December at the Qatar National Conventions Centre.

The Summit will gather key global players together with international experts in healthcare innovation with the aim of discussing practical, lasting and innovative solutions to the challenges posed by global health.

This year, the congress will focus on eight issues: obesity, mental health, responsible care, death, injury in road accidents, patient compliance, antimicrobial resistance, and big data and healthcare.

Representing the Institut de la Màcula, will be its Director and ophthalmologist, Jordi Monés. He will take part in two themes: “patient compliance”, which will explore the need for the patient to understand and manage his/her own health, and “antimicrobial resistance”, on promoting action to combat this.

The Summit is organised by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, with the support of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. It follows last  year’s event in London on Health Policies.
