Dr. Jordi Monés appears on the RAC1 programme “Via Lliure”

Dr. Jordi Monés, ophthalmologist specialising in macula, retina and vitreous at the Institut de la Màcula and Medical Director of the Barcelona Macula Foundation, has been interviewed on the RAC1 programme “Via Lliure”.

Dr. Monés MD, PhD gave an overview of the Institut de la Màcula’s research in collaboration with the Barcelona Macula Foundation. He expressed his excitement that “in 5 to 10 years effective treatments are expected to be available for combating Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) in its atrophic form”.

In parallel, Dr. Monés reviewed the vision and mission of the Barcelona Macula Foundation and valued the research being undertaken in Catalonia “very positively” despite “a lack of funding”.
