The 5th Annual Meeting of MuscleTech Network opened at the Camp Nou Stadium this morning. This gathering is an international reference point which enables doctors and researchers from all over the world to debate the latest trends and innovations in the muscle and tendon field.
Dr. Jordi Monés, as Director of Medical Services of Barcelona Football Club, opened the event. He was accompanied by Eusebi Cima, the president of the Leitat Technological Centre, Dr. Xavier Gassó, the director of healthcare management at Egarsat, Iván Tibau, the General Secretary for Sport of the Regional Government of Catalonia and Xavier Amador, the director of Institutional Relations in the Department of Quality of Life and Sport of Barcelona City Council. "This is a unique initiative. FC Barcelona is the only institution or medical centre to create an encounter which improves knowledge about the muscle and tendon. The muscle and tendon are not priorities for normal medicine but in sport they are very important. For this reason, research about them is very important," Dr. Monés said.
This year’s theme is “Research on muscle and tendon injuries: from scientific evidence to clinical practice.” Other doctors and researchers in the muscle and tendon field will also take part, such as Lluís Til, Ricard Pruna, Daniel Medina and Xavier Yanguas.
