The Institut de la Màcula provides Ecoceutics pharmacists with training on its clinical trials programme

Dr. Jordi Monés, MD, PhD, the Director and ophthalmologist specialising in the macula, retina and vitreous at the Institut de la Màcula, has provided pharmacists belonging to the Farmàcies Ecoceutics association with a training course on the Institut’s clinical trials programme.

In the course, Dr. Monés reviewed the pathologies linked to the trials, which are currently in the recruitment phase. These pathologies are Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) in its dry and atrophic variants, vitreomacular traction and neovascular glaucoma.

Dr. Monés resolved the pharmacists’ doubts over eligibility criteria, the benefits and possible risks of participating in trials and their duration.

Farmàcies Ecoceutics comprises over 150 Catalonia pharmacists who share their entrepreneurial efforts. The aim is to join forces and generate synergies between pharmacies for the development of common projects while respecting each associate’s individuality.
