Dr. Marta Pazos wins Third Prize at the Spanish Glaucoma Society Research Awards

Dr. Marta Pazos has obtained Third Prize in the THEA-SEG Research Awards bestowed on the best publications on glaucoma in 2015. The announcement was made at the 11th Congress of the Spanish Glaucoma Society (SEG), held in Toledo on 10-12 March.

Dr. Pazos’s article, Rat nerve head anatomy within 3D Histomorphometric reconstructions of normal control eyes, was published in the journal Experimental Eye Research. It covers some of the results of Dr. Pazos’s research in writing her doctoral thesis, whose defence in January received an Excellent Cum Laude distinction from the jury.

Dr. Pazos is the Institut de la Màcula’s expert on the diagnosis, monitoring and medical treatment of glaucoma. Having specialised in this field at the Devers Eye Institute in Portland (US), she maintains close ties with this institution through the Optic Nerve Head Research Laboratory.
