Dr. Anna Sala represents the Institut at the Congress of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology 2015

Dr. Anna Sala, the ophthalmologist specialising in retina at the Institut de la Màcula, will be its representative at the 91st Congress of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology (SEO). The event will take place at the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses in Sevilla on 23-26 September.

The topic addressed by the official paper is “Retinal disease in high myopia”. In the subsequent publication, Dr. Jordi Monés and Dr. Sala have helped to write the chapter “Fluorescein Angiography in the diagnosis of Choroidal Neovascularisation in high myopia”.

The chapter demonstrates the importance of Fluorescein Angiography in patients with myopia as monitoring in detecting reappearances of Choroidal Neovascularisation. It also values the importance of performing Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) in order to detect Choroidal Neovascularisation in the most efficient manner.

The Congress of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology is one of the most important in Spain. Together with the Subspeciality Day when developments in retina, cataract and refractive, glaucoma and cornea are discussed, the Congress boasts 11 satellite meetings, 22 symposiums, 43 refresher courses and many more activities.
