Dr Paula Verdaguer to participate at the 29th SECOIR Congress in Alicante

The 29th Congress of the Spanish Society of Refractive Implant Ocular Surgery (SECOIR) takes place between Wednesday, May 14 and Saturday, May 17 at the Auditorium of the Provincial Council of Alicante (ADDA). The event provides the opportunity to demonstrate the latest developments in anterior eye segment surgery.
The agenda during this four-day period includes two lectures by Dr Paula Verdaguer, the ophthalmologist and cornea, refractive surgery and cataract specialist at the Institut de la Màcula. During Wednesday afternoon’s course on phakic lenses, coordinated by Dr Jaime Aramberri and Dr Erik Mertens, Dr Verdaguer will talk on “Iris fixation lenses: long-term security”. In this session, she will explain the indications and the surgical procedure for the implantation of anterior chamber lens together with the long-term guarantee offered by these lenses.
In addition, Dr Verdaguer will take part in the EUCORNEA /SECOIR Cornea Surgery symposium on Saturday morning by presenting “DMEK: adjusting the diameter of the lenticule” on a clinical case relating to endothelial transplantation.
This 29th edition, together with the SECOIR, will also feature the annual meeting of the World Keratoconus Society. This is where international ophthalmologists gather to debate the new trends in the diagnosis and treatment of keratonus, in order to be able to treat it properly and improve the quality of life of those who suffer from this pathology.
